Town Money Saver wins third franchising award of 2017

The Ohio-headquartered business ranked No. 52 in the flagship publication's list.

The Top 100 Franchises under $50,000 rankings were released in the magazine's March 2017 Startup issue.

This year, TMS has also been recognized in Entrepreneur magazine's Franchise 500 and Franchise Business Review's 2017 Top Franchises Report.

TMS is a direct-mail publication that focuses on simple print and digital advertising solutions for hometown businesses.

Operating in its 25th year, TMS currently serves more than 150 communities in the Midwest with a monthly circulation of 2.2 million.

"When we began in 1992, our goal was to provide affordable, effective advertising that offers the best possible return on investment to local businesses.," Zirzow said. "Twenty-five years later, we're proud of what we have grown and our goal remains unchanged."

Town Money Saver was ranked No. 429 in Entrepreneur magazine's annual Franchise 500 for its exceptional performance in areas including financial strength and stability, size and growth rate, brand power, costs and fees.

To produce the rankings, Entrepreneur Editor in Chief Jason Feifer said the magazine spends months gathering and crunching data.

"We're proud of the result and the way it continues to be a resource for the franchise community," Feifer said. "Like every industry, franchising is ever-evolving and must smartly react to new technologies and consumer demands. We know it takes a lot to stay competitive, and are excited to celebrate those that do it best."

All franchises are given a cumulative score based on more than 150 data points, and the 500 franchises with the highest cumulative scores become the Franchise 500 in ranking order.

Over its 38 years in existence, the Franchise 500 has become both a top competitive measure for franchisors and a primary research tool for entrepreneurs.

Some of Town Money Saver's previous honors include being ranked No. 1 in Entrepreneur magazine's Franchise 500 direct-mail category in 2013 and being named a Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead 100 Upstart winner, also in 2013.

Within the past few years, TMS revised its branding and began offering its Performance Awarded Franchise Opportunity, which gives prospective franchisees the ability to earn a franchise without fees.
