JDog Junk Removal and Hauling is opening a franchise in Mount Pleasant as of Friday.
The local JDog franchise is owned and operated by retired U.S. Marine Jason Pratt. JDog will come to a home or business and remove anything, whether a single item or by partial or full trailer load. A single item costs $99, minimum, and Pratt can give estimates on larger jobs.
JDog will do full-house clean-outs, and it will work with area funeral homes offering its services to families who need that service, said Pratt's wife, Anneliese.
"When we remove everything we will repurpose as much as we possibly can, and with that we are also trying to reach out to local veteran housing authorities to be able to donate furniture or appliances in good condition," JDog states. "As we grow we will work with the (Department of Veterans Affairs) as well, to help provide veterans jobs as we want to help support our military."
