"The strength of JDog is rooted in the sentiment of brotherhood among veterans. This not only resonates with our franchisees, but it's continuing to define the operating environment of the company and everyone who is affiliated with the brand" In less than three years, JDog now has sold 16 franchise territories across six states, including Florida, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas, with 10 additional franchisees expected to come on board by the end of the month.
In February, the company announced the formation of the JDog Joint Chiefs Advisory Board, made up of highly-placed military veterans and successful entrepreneurs who advise the company and coach franchisees. JDog has recently appointed a new member, Forrest Pragoff, to the leadership team. Pragoff spent time with the Delaware National Guard and was a General Officer and later President General of the nation's first military veterans' organization, the Society of the Cincinnati.
Also on the board is retired Marine Major General Douglas O'Dell, who was appointed by President George W. Bush as Federal Coordinator for Gulf Coast Rebuilding after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, as well as retired Army Captain Larry Liss, one of the most highly decorated helicopter pilots of the Vietnam War.
Furthermore, JDog has also formed the JDog Civilian Advisory Board, made up of experienced business leaders, who are lending their networking and business skills to help grow the company and advise franchisees with their businesses. Chairing the board is Steve Cloetingh, a Philadelphia-area executive with more than 30 years' experience in the Wireless industry. Along with his brother, Cloetingh recently sold their wireless business, Signal Holdings LLC, to a large Fortune 500 company.
"JDog is doing something incredibly unique with its business model and I am proud to stand behind a company putting so many former service members into work for themselves," said Cloetingh.
Operating on the principles of respect, integrity and trust, JDog is the first company to build a national military veteran brand that can lead the markets it enters. The business is based on the idea that when given the choice, the American public will always chose to support a veteran business. JDog provides a detailed operations plan to help franchisees get up and running quickly and profitably. As more veterans join the JDog movement, the collective value of the enterprise grows, benefiting all franchisees. Many franchise operators employ other veterans, helping military family members transition to civilian life. JDog plans to donate 10 percent of its net income to veteran causes designated by its franchisees.
"The strength of JDog is rooted in the sentiment of brotherhood among veterans. This not only resonates with our franchisees, but it's continuing to define the operating environment of the company and everyone who is affiliated with the brand," said Jerry Flanagan, CEO of JDog and an Army veteran himself.
