Similar to other local residential firms, including Platinum Realty and Your Future Address, United Real Estate has appealed to agents by charging them a flat fee rather than a percentage of commission for each transaction. That allows the agent to make more money per sale.
United refers to its model as its "100 percent commission strategy." "While other urban real estate franchise systems focus on how much profit they make per agent, we truly focus on our agent's profit," Peter Giese, president of United Real Estate, said in a release. "The rapid pace of real estate agents joining United Real Estate proves that our real estate brokerage model and now our franchise model are unlike any other in the industry." Marta Grace, managing broker for the United Real Estate Kansas City franchise, said its goal is to recruit more than 90 agents by the end of the year.
Launched in January 2011, United Real Estate has established company-owned brokerages in Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington. In addition, United has franchise operations in Kansas City; Pasadena, Pomona, Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, Calif.; Louisville and Lexington, Ky.; Scottsdale, Ariz.; and New Jersey.
