The decision to invest in Snooze Rockhampton was an easy one, considering Kylie was already familiar with the brand. "I had been working as a store manager at Snooze when the opportunity arose to become a franchise partner.
"I was confident that I was investing in a business model that was profitable as well as tried and tested," Kylie says.
While Kylie was experienced in the day-to-day operation of the business, the additional support Snooze offers its franchisees was a major drawcard.
"[They] offer vendor finance assistance, sales and product training, business management support and a national marketing program � all factors that made the brand a right choice for us." Kylie and Mitchell were in fact able to purchase their franchise thanks to the financial assistance from Snooze, as well as finance from the bank.
Snooze offers training and support well after franchisees' first few months with the brand, Kylie explains.
"Snooze continually shares knowledge and expertise amongst its entire network, ensuring you can always provide exceptional level of service to your customers and ultimately allows your store to perform at the optimum level." Given her prior experience with the bedding retailer, Kylie is primarily responsible for running the business, with Mitchell assisting her on the weekends. "That being said, the times that we do work together I would say we get a quite a lot of enjoyment out of it," she adds While Kylie admits juggling work and personal commitments can be a challenge, she has found a way to balance the two.
"It's all about time management. One of the best things about running your own snooze franchise is it allows you to balance your work life around your home life," she says.
The husband and wife team intend to stay with the brand well into the future, and have multiple long-term goals for their Rockhampton store.
"We want to continue growing our business and offer our customers the best service and products available," Kylie says.
"In the next five years we also hope for our work commitments to complement our home life even more."
