Alliance Cost Containment Buys Central Kentucky Franchise

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

Alliance Cost Containment, which helps mid-sized, privately held companies and nonprofits reduce their operating expenses, has purchased its Central Kentucky franchise, Cost Containment of Kentucky.

The sale, which didn't require any outside capital, was final March 1, Alliance Cost Containment CEO Miles Lee said.

He declined to disclose the purchase price.

Lexington-based Cost Containment of Kentucky has been an independent franchise of Louisville-based Alliance Cost Containment since 2004. It is one of the largest and most successful franchises of Alliance Cost Containment's 23 franchises.

Louisville native Rudy Moeller, the former owner of Cost Containment of Kentucky, has become part of Alliance Cost Containment's management team.

"He has a nice book of business that integrates nicely with our company," Lee said in an interview.

This is the second purchase of a franchise that Alliance Cost Containment has made this year. As Business First previously reported, effective Jan. 1, the company purchased its Louisville-area franchise, The Cost Reduction Group, which has more than 60 clients in the Louisville area.

Alliance Cost Containment is not pursuing a strategy of purchasing its franchises, Lee said, but he added, "if there's a strategic fit with one of our field offices, we will take a look at it."
