Bennigan's, which has been involved in casual dining for 36 years, joined the International Franchise Association's VetFran program as a way to give back to our nation's heroes. VetFran, which includes nearly 500 IFA franchisor member companies, offers financial incentives, training and mentoring to veterans interested in small business ownership. At Bennigan's, "we want to do what we can to get veterans back into business and back into mainstream. We are prepared to waive all initial fees, which comes to around $35,000, to veterans that qualify for financing," said Mangiamele.
Franchising is about consistency and performing against an operation and "the military experience that veterans return home with makes them successful in franchising." Mangiamele explains that is not only the debt of gratitude that we owe to our veterans, "but they are also a value add to our economy at a time when we are looking for leaders." Bennigan's will continue to offer veterans programs and initiatives to help ease the transition from the battle field to the work force.
