Canadian Franchise Continues Area Expansion; Offering Half-Priced Pitas October 1-2

Continuing to set a new bar in convenient, healthy dining, Extreme Pita announces the opening of its newest restaurant at the Namao Centre. Located at 9617-160th Avenue, the new restaurant marks the nineteenth location currently open and operating in Edmonton.

Extreme Pita will be hosting a two-day grand opening event October 1-2, 2010, offering half-priced pitas throughout both days. Additionally, all attendees can enter into a drawing where 25 customers will win free pitas for one year.

"As the success of our brand continues to grow in Edmonton, we're extremely excited about bringing our fresh and healthy pitas to the Namao Centre," said Alex Rechichi, CEO and Co-Founder of Extreme Pita. "We look forward to feeding the local appetite and answering the call for healthful quick serve alternatives." Positioned in a niche between monster fast food outlets and fast casual dining environments, Extreme Pita continues to offer increasingly busy consumers convenience and value with its large selection of fresh and nutritious pita sandwiches assembled from the freshest ingredients.

Unlike traditional fast food restaurants and sub shops, Extreme Pita does not offer foot-long loaves of bread with just the typical options for filling. Instead, they offer a 2,000-year-old traditional bread staple the pita and feature a "no rules" menu that customizes every rolled pita to suit the individual tastes of its health conscious customers. Only offering non-processed cheeses, meats, vegetables and sauces, all pitas are served fresh or sauted in water, not oil, right in front of the customer.

"The current economic climate presents a great growth opportunity for Extreme Pita, as consumers are constantly making trade-offs and looking for value when it comes to their dining options," Rechichi added. "While many consumers are downgrading from casual dining to QSR, they prefer not to compromise their choice in food. Good economy or bad, customers want to enjoy foods they crave without sacrificing freshness, nutritional value and taste." To augment the market's growth, Extreme Pita is seeking single- and multi-unit franchisees, as well as area developers to develop the local Extreme Pita network. Area developers should have knowledge of the local marketplace and a keen understanding and background in restaurant operations and real estate development. The average cost to open an Extreme Pita is between $200,000 and $270,000, with a franchise fee of $15,000.

About Extreme Pita Extreme Pita was co-founded by Alex and Mark Rechichi in 1997. Their desire was to provide a product that would compete against traditional fast food concepts. Right from the start their idea was simple sell fresh and healthy food. After a great deal of research and experimenting, Extreme Pita became the answer to this quest. Today the company boasts nearly 300 locations in North America and is experiencing a double digit growth rate. For more information on Extreme Pita, visit www.extremepita.com.
