The Winter Park-based restaurant chain announced Chief Operating Officer Brian Wheeler, a co-owner, will become the company's chief executive officer. Meanwhile, former CEO Camp Fitch will now serve as chairman of the firm's board of directors, according to a news release.
Along with Fitch, the firm's board also includes Wheeler and Chief Financial Officer Chester Wheeler. Rick Van Warner, president of Winter Park-based restaurant consulting firm The Parquet Group LLC, also will join the board as an outside director.
Other changes on the company's executive team include: • Tony Sperrazza, a 20-year restaurant industry veteran, being named director of operations • Jeffrey Rettig Sr., who has been with Tijuana Flats since 2004, was named vice president overseeing human resources • Nicole DiPietro, who has been with the chain since 1997, was named vice president overseeing the finance department The transition is expected to take place over the next few months.
Tijuana Flats, a fast-casual Tex-Mex restaurant chain, has more than 65 locations in Florida, Indiana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
