Computer Franchise Offers New Horizons

Liam McMahon's former employer got more than it bargained for when it sent him on a computer training course in the US.

As well as computer skills, McMahon came back with an idea for his own business.

The training course in Arizona was run by New Horizons, a franchised training business. McMahon had always had a hankering to be his own boss, and the encounter with New Horizons prompted him to consider bringing the firm to Ireland.

In 2003, he was awarded the franchise and established New Horizons Ireland. "�"�Companies and individuals in Ireland deserved better training than was available at the time,"� said McMahon, who qualified as an electronic engineer after growing up on a farm in north Co Dublin.
