Thrifty Car Sales Franchise Unveiled In San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX | Monday, April 07, 2008

Thrifty Car Sales has opened a used car dealership in Northwest San Antonio.

Tulsa, Okla.-based Thrifty, a subsidiary of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc. (NYSE: DTG), sold a pre-owned vehicle dealership franchise to Richie Davis, Erik Baerresen, Drake Baerresen and Matt Griffin.

The new dealership is located at 8187 Bandera Road on a 1.5-acre lot. The dealership will initially have an inventory of 50 to 60 vehicles and 10 employees.

The Thrifty Car Sales franchise will sell vehicles in the 3,000- to 55,000-mileage range and none of the vehicles will be more than eight years old. The company's inventory will consist of 60 percent domestic cars, 20 percent imports and the balance will be trucks and SUVs.

The owners aren't new to the automotive world. The partners currently work at Turn-Key Events, where they manage a team of account executives in 28 states that provide marketing and advertising services to automotive dealerships across the country.

Plans for the future include scouting out two more locations in San Antonio over the next two years if business warrants.

The master franchise company, Thrifty Car Sales, has 39 locations throughout the United States. The company was founded in 1999.
