"I got involved with Velocity Sports Performance because I could see the direct relationship between my rehabilitation and performance training," explained Jeff Rose, certified physical therapist and owner Velocity Sports Performance Mahwah, New Jersey. "I could see that Velocity (Sports Performance) picked-up where my physical therapy left-off. By creating rehab and conditioning programs I'm assured that the recovery process is completed." MLS MVP Following a series of sports injuries including hernia injury and chronic, nagging hamstring pain, Major League Soccer's 2005 MVP, Taylor Twellman turned to Velocity Sport Performance and PRORehab Sport Physical Therapy in Chesterfield, Missouri for sports rehabilitation that would have him ready for the U.S. Olympic Soccer Team training camp. Taylor needed a program that would get him better fast.
"While working with athletes at Velocity (Sports Performance) we make them stronger and healthier, and since we have a clinic within the Velocity Sports Performance center we're able to offer a comprehensive approach that combines physical therapists, trainers, and strength coaches with 24,000 square feet of training space," explained Randy Craig co-owner of PRORehab, Chesterfield, MO. A thorough evaluation revealed some unique biomechanical issues that were contributing to Taylor's current hamstring and groin problems. The physical therapists, trainers, and strength coaches discussed Taylor's situation and the best course of action. Together they developed and prescribed a program that had Taylor on a series of flexibility and core strengthening exercises designed to address Taylor's very specific needs. After three weeks of daily rehab and another three weeks of conditioning and training at Velocity Sports Performance, Taylor was ready for the U.S. Olympic Soccer Training camp*. "Having an in-house physical therapy partner like PRORehab is a great added value to our Velocity Sports Performance clients," explained Meade Smith, Sports Performance Director, Velocity Sports Performance, Chesterfield, MO. "The combination of physical therapy and sports performance training reinforces our holistic approach to training athlete's the right way."
