Nearly at the halfway point on his 1,800-mile trek on foot from Houston to Los Angeles, Noah Rattler stopped by Z-CoiL Footwear's Albuquerque headquarters on Wednesday, May 30, for a free footwear tune-up. Noah is a man on a mission to raise awareness about the issue of homelessness in America and to raise funds for SEARCH, a Houston, Texas, agency committed to "Changing Lives. Ending Homelessness." At the start of his journey, Z-CoiL provided Noah with three pairs of Z-CoiL Pain Relief Footwear to help him achieve his goal with less pain in his feet, knees, hips, and back. Since March 24, Noah has been walking in his Z-CoiL shoes and meeting with the media, schools, and social service agencies along the way to spread his message and raise donations in support of this important cause. He expects to reach his destination sometime in July. "I am really glad that Z-CoiL donated the shoes for the trip. They alleviated the pain I was feeling prior to setting out on my journey, and without them I would not have made it this far," Noah said. During Noah's visit at Z-CoiL, Customer Service Technician Jason Porter was happy to make minor adjustments to Noah's shoes to improve his comfort. He also replaced the heel coil assemblies where the rubber outsole had worn through after many miles of hard use. Z-CoiL customers are entitled to free fitting adjustments at most Z-CoiL stores for as long as they own their footwear. Heel coil replacements typically cost extra, but were provided in this case free-of-charge. Noah was originally custom-fitted in his Z-CoiL footwear by distributors Vicky Hayes and Cristi Lington, who have stores in Houston and League City, Texas. It was Vicky and Cristi who had requested a footwear donation from Z-CoiL headquarters back in March. As a company dedicated to "Changing People's Lives with Pain Relief Footwear," Z-CoiL takes its community responsibility very much to heart. In fact, Z-CoiL Footwear received a Corporate Citizenship Award from the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce in 2005, and continues to support many worthy causes.
