Banfield's PetFit Challenge entries are due by June 30, 2007

Pets that are losing weight and enjoying the benefits of weight loss success as participants in Banfield's PetFit Challenge, are encouraged to send in their Pet's entry to win the Banfield Fittest Pet of the Year Award. In July 2007, two grand prizewinners will be selected - one dog and one cat. The most inspiring canine and feline fitness stories will win grand prize packages including a brand new refrigerator valued at $1,000, packed with Hills's Pet food and a 1-year Optimum Wellness Plan for both winners.

Now is the time to share your inspirational PetFit Challenge story with us! In order to ensure that your Pet's entry qualifies for submission to win the Banfield Fittest Pet of the Year Award, you must include the following materials:
- Pet parent's name, address, phone number, e-mail, Pet's name, Banfield hospital, Banfield veterinarian, starting weight and post-challenge weight
- An inspirational success story in 400 words or less, describing how the PetFit Challenge changed your Pet's life

Over the course of the 12-month study, both people and dogs lost weight and kept it off: People lost an average of 11 pounds (approximately 5 percent of their initial body weight) and dogs lost an average of 12 pounds (approximately 15.6 percent of their initial body weight). The maximum weight loss for dogs was 35 pounds; for people, the maximum loss was 51 pounds.
