Significant Changes Made To Company's Infrastructure To Improve The Neighborhoods They Serve

Friday, January 09, 2004

TCA Financial, LLC made strides this year improving infrastructure, though technology and office improvements, poising the company to leap to the next step in breakthrough customer service. Already a cutting edge provider to tax clients throughout the country, Tax Centers of America, LLC and its flagship company, Instant Tax Service, began expansion this year with a nearly $300,000 information technology investment.

Purchase of several high-quality Dell Inc. products, including three enterprise Dell Xeon dual 2.8 GHz servers with Raid disk array and Microsoft Windows 2003 Server and Dell automatic tape back-up unit installed. Also, more than 250 new Dell workstations were purchased and placed in offices throughout the company.

"We went from a small desk-based computer to an enterprise-type cabinet system in just one year," said Jon Cross, TCA Financial's information technology manager. "This was used to utilize the long-term IT investment." In addition, Tax Centers of America began to install living-room style waiting rooms at all their 118 locations. Unlike any other waiting room in the tax preparation industry, customers get the opportunity to enjoy beverages, lounge on plush couches and watch larger screen televisions while waiting for a tax preparer - which can be long during the industry's well-known and natural busy season. Nearly $300,000 was spent painting offices, adding wall paper, lighting, deluxe office furniture and accoutrements to create a much more enjoyable time anticipating getting a tax return completed.

Before this change, customers were forced to sit in cramp offices on uncomfortable chairs with little more than a magazine for entertainment. With today's more-competitive tax preparation market, getting customers who otherwise wouldn't use the service is paramount. This investment is meant to be long-term - making customers now stay with the company for their tax needs for years to come.

"Besides making the offices look good, this gives the neighborhood our office's serve a facelift," said Fesum Ogbazion, Tax Centers of America, LLC's president and founder. "Many businesses open in these neighborhoods and don't even think twice about how they look. I want to change that." Tax Centers of America, LLC was founded in 2001 and offers an array of services, including its flagship "Instant Tax Service'" with 118 retail locations in 12 states. It is currently one of the largest tax preparation providers in the United States.
