Arizona based Famous Sam's Restaurant/Sports Bars announced the winner of their promotion with Miller Lite and the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Arizona Diamondbacks World Series Trophy appeared at 13 valley wide Famous Sam's locations from May 4th to August 3, 2002. While the trophy was visiting the locations, patrons could "enter-to-win" a chance to throw out the first pitch at the Friday, August 9, 2002, 7:05pm, Arizona Diamondbacks game versus the Florida Marlins. Elementary school teacher, Bonnie Keran of Chandler, won the opportunity from thousands of entries. Additionally, Mrs. Keran received 10 tickets to the game to invite friends and family to watch her throw the first pitch. Famous Sam's Restaurant/Sports Bars were founded in 1963 in Tucson, Arizona. Currently, Famous Sam's operates 31 locations throughout Arizona including 14 locations in the Metro - Phoenix area. Famous Sam's corporate office is located in Mesa, Arizona.
